At 10:33pm on December 29th the Downingtown Fire Department and surrounding mutual aid were dispatched to a residential fire on the 100 block of Washington Avenue in Downingtown Borough. Assistant Chief 45 arrived on scene with fire on the second and third floor and requested a working fire dispatch. Engine 46-1, Engine 46-2, Air 46, and MICU 46 (2 units) made the response. Engine 46-1 secured a primary water supply and began initial fire attack. Engine 46-2 secured a secondary water supply. Tower 45 set up for roof ventilation and initiated a primary search of both units. The fire was quickly brought under control due to the quick response and manpower onscene. Mutual aid crews assisted with water supply, Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), ventilation, secondary searches, and overhaul. Crews were onscene until 2:00am.

We'd like to thank our mutual aid partners for their response and thank you to Goshen Fire Company and Lionville Fire Company for providing standby coverage to Downingtown Borough and East Caln Township.
