Engine 51-2 First In On
Working Building Fire

At 0513 hours after running over 10 calls the previous 24 hours - Station 51 was alerted to assist Station 25 (Longwood) on a Building Fire at Lenape Forge Products on Lenape Road. Engine 51-2 (with a crew of 8 on station) was enroute immediately. Asst 25 (Aj. McCarthy) arrived first on scene and reported smoke showing, and upgraded the assignment to a working building. Engine 51-2 was first on scene and under the command of Lt. Kramer stretched one 1 3/4 handline through a side door to attack the fire. Engine 25-2 arrived and went interior to assist with "opening up". Tanker 24-6 arrived and supplied Engine 51-2. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly however crews remained on scene in order to remove smoke from throughout the building. Final units cleared at 0842 hours.
